Hoskins wins... again

One can say that Barbados Hoskins Worrell is making winning the Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic a habit after he captured his sixth title on Saturday October 25th 2014.
Known as 'Biscuit' among the bodybuilding fraternity, Worrell brought to the stage at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, a conditioned muscular body in his bid to win yet another title in the Classic's seventh year.
But he was not the biggest on the stage... and he knew it even before he hit the floodlit arena. However the veteran who is one shy of 50 years, said that he knew he had to bring a superior conditioned body if he wanted to win.
Disappointed befell the competition even before they took to the stage as coastguard Stevenson Belle who has been one of Worrell greatest rivals, was unable to grace the stage.
The top three competitors from the Open Classic Division were added to the Invitational which had competitors from Antigua, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
As the crowd cheered for their favourite Worrell engaged in his trademark and entertaining pose off with a competitor. This time, with Belle missing, it was the Open Classic winner Dario Bryan, while SVG's Garvin Phillips found himself somewhat trapped in the middle.
The compulsory poses were first, followed by 60 seconds of a free routine. Even then, the crowd was not sure who had won the title.
With the final three, Worrell, Phillips and Doriell Coulthrust still standing, the final result was not clear.
However Worrell said that when he heard Coulthrust called for third place, he knew the title was his.
Phillips who was clearly the biggest on stage fell short and some members of the crowd were clearly on his side. But Worrell nonetheless has made it his sixth victory in the Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic which has only been going for seven years.
However while the big muscular show was the main event, the other Division on show did not disappoint with the Ladies going up for Body Fitness and Bikini, while the men had Men's Physique.
With only four competitors in the Body Fitness, Ramona Morgan looked the best of the regional competitors and it was no surprise when she was announced as the winner.
Domini Alleyne may have thought she was also the favourite to win the Bikini section, however many in the crowd that that Shakira Doughlin had brought her 'A' game and gave Alleyne a good run for the title. Alleyne carried off the title and Doughlin was second.
Not to be forgotten was the huge figure of Dexter 'Blade' Jackson. The guest poser was muscular, massive and though he may not have been in competition condition, he was still well conditioned to put on a good show. The crowd began electric when he got off the stage and made his way through the general and VIP section of the audience giving everyone a close up view of just how big he was.
